| On May 15, 2010, my dad and I scored the 2nd double of the season within our family. My brother and I had the first the 2nd day of season and my dad and I the 2nd to last day of season.
After a back and forth battle setting up on birds, I harvested a nice 19 lb. 10in beard, 1 inch spurred gobbler using 2 hard, excited cutting sequences on my Doug Crabtree diaphragm call. Yelping and clucking were getting answers, but the bird couldn't take the hard cutting. After about an hour of using my diaphragm,
Vision Aluminum, and the Real Hen, he came strutting right over the slight rise in the corn field. I waited about 5 minutes while he slowly strutted his way in closer and took the shot while his head was erect. However, as I shot he pulled his head back into strut. I rocked him, but he took off into the woodline, followed by two more shots. I couldn't believe it. Anyways, we got the bird.
After some congrats, high fives and hugs, my dad and I made our way back to one our original set ups where we left a hen decoy standing. We're walking along the field edge and I can see the decoy about 200 yards across the field with a gobbler 10 yards away. He got up to the decoy began strutting circles around it. Using the terrain to his advantage, my dad got his gun, sprinted across a small bowl the field, through a small strip of woods and began a Choctaw sneak towards the bird. Meanwhile, I stayed back just in the woodline where we initially spotted the bird and I'm watching the whole show. That bird was focused on the decoy that he never broke strut. He never knew what hit him when my dad dropped the hammer. Although I couldn't see my dad in the field and did see the shot hit the bird solid. When I made my way up to my dad, the gobbler was flopping a little so I went to take a closer look. He had said the spurs don't look like much, but when I looked closer, he had shot a granddaddy. 24 lbs. 9 in. thick beard and 1.25 in. needle sharp, curved, blond spurs. What a way to end our 2010 season with a double #2.

| Way to go the green up looks good up there, now that the season is over there are strut marks all over the woods down here. We saw an old hen saturday that had two little chicks in the dirt road, I thought they were doves until I had driven right up on em. I was going to show them to my grandson but since I only saw two I was afraid mama might lose one.

| Nice gobblers and awesome pictures!! Congratulations on your second double of the season! 2010 was a great year in Ohio!
