I just got another red vyper the other day. I noticed immediately that the tape seemed alot softer; and it is. The call sounds real good. After about 3 weeks of use I noticed that the tape is starting to disintegrate around the edges. Did yall switch tapes recently?

I just got my calls in today and as far as the tape yes i did to, not what im used to with my other woodhaven mouth calls. They still sound great do not get me wrong, just feels kinda funny.

Hey guys....just a FYI note.....we don't manufacture "tape".....we depend on our suppliers to get us the best quality tape and we really are deligent to make sure we get the best we can. Some of the suppliers have sent their tape overseas to be manufactured and as you'd expect...it was a foul up. We have made adjustments when and where we have to -to maintain our quality. We have been able to nip most if not all problems in the bud(right here at the shop). Tape will wear over time with the amount of usage you put it thru....remember...a good call can always be "re-taped".....in other words "don't let a bad piece of tape or worn out piece of tape make you mistakingly get rid of an otherwise fine call"....we stand behind our hand made calls...100%!

Mike, thanks for that. Im getting use to the softer tape. an I got my Cherry classic crystal in and it came as advertised. No matter what I know you guys at woodhaven build the best calls an I have told my fellow hunters time an time again the only call that will be put in my mouth will be a woodhaven. KEEP IT UP !! can't wait to see what you have planned for 2011.
