What are some of yalls recommendations?  I almost exclusively use mouth calls but lately I have wanted to try some of the slate, crystal, aluminum calls.  I got the cherry slate in the mail yesterday and like it but not afraid to get another one.  Please discuss.  If you had to choose one friction call from the woodhaven line to carry hunting, which would it be?

I would go with the aluminum pot... simply because I've got an old Legend Aluminum that is extremely versatile (i.e. sounds as good loud as soft) that I've killed birds w/ for 6 years now.  Only bad thing is I don't think they are being made anymore... but the Vision Aluminum sounds very close to it.

Vision Crystal or Vision Aluminum. Both outstanding sounding calls, but each has its own unique sound - it really just depends on what you're looking for, schunter. I find the cutts and yelps to be sharper on the crystal and I can get more volume out of it, so I generally use it as a locator while I cutt n run. The Vision Aluminum is not quite as sharp or "loud" as the crystal, but it will do everything from aggressive cutts to soft clucks n purrs. The powder coating on this call grabs the striker very well which makes it very easy to use for softer calling. You will be very impressed with either call - like I said though, it really just depends on what sounds you're after.

I reckon I will just get both and decide for myself.  I would have to use both to see which one I liked better.  After all, its only money.  Thanks for the input.

I have both the Vision Aluminum and Crystal. I tend to use both equally as much. Depending on which bird I'm calling in, depends on which sound he likes better. I dont use mouth calls, and with the two frictions I have, I called in 21 last year into range. Its just money liek you said, If I lost mine today, I would order 2 more tomorrow. Just sayin... Woodhaven calls are the best, and the vision line is the best...

I bought the Cherry Classic Crystal about 4 years ago and have pounded a number of longbeards.  It's a little higher pitch that absolutely screams.  It comes with 2 strikers that are both very good.  When you begin experimenting with different strikers, you will notice a different tone in the call as well.  Oh, Bobby Woods has won a few National Titles with this call as well!  Good luck, Woodhaven is the best in the business, you can't go wrong with any of their friction calls, I just happen to be bias to the crystal.
