| | There have been sometimes that i had a bird coming to me and all of a sudden he hangs up and goes away from me. what should i have done in order to get him responding and heading back my way? |

| There is no set answer, first try to determine why he turned back, another hen cut him off or terrain feature such as water or fence may have stopped him. I usually try to be patient and see if he is flirting with me. If he keeps going because he is henned up you need to get ahead of him. If he struts back and forth there is probably something he does not want to cross and you need to move up when he is fartherest away trying to get in gun shot of his turn around point.
How you set up on a turkey is the key to killing more turkeys, calling is really secondary. That being said the better caller who is a good woodsman will kill more than someone who is skilled in only one area. After you set up right and call pretty well confidence and patience kills turkeys. Personally I have busted more turkeys being aggressive but I have been busted myself by standing up when i should have shut up.
