What would be wrong with using a #6 high density waterfowl load as compared to extended range Winchester or flight controlled Federals.
The velocity with the #6 h.d waterfowl load has caught my eye. I personally think with a 20ga you want to take advantage of the amount of shot in the #6 and with the h.d. loads they should hit like regular 4s. Anyone have load test or data to share?
Thanks for all the help in previous post too.
Take it from me, until you try it you won't believe it. I might even switch myself. I am a true believer it is a definite 40yrd-45yrd gun now. Try the 20ga with h.d. loads (each mfg has their own version). Mass maintains momentum...with shot heavier than lead it is like walking up and hitting the the target with a baseball bat! Truly devastating. If you are interested in trying just post it and I will help you out with some loads to start. I won't go into great detail unless someone is curious.
