| Thanks Mike, for those who are not aware Greg is my youngest son, 25 years old. We learned the first of Sept. he had testicular cancer which was at stage two and had progressed to his lymph nodes around his kidney's. He was treated thru Shand's of Gainesville and immediately started chemo which lasted until just after thanksgiving and then after time to build back up some he had surgery Monday.
Thanks to a great team of doctors, prayers and support from friends and family and most of all the grace of God he should be cancer free. We still have not heard from the lab results but the doctorwas very positive in his post op talk with us. The surgery took a little over 5 hours and recovery and he should be moved to a room sometime today.
Until you deal with adversity like this you really don't appreciate the strength and support you draw from people who care and the comfort your faith provides.
Greg's cancer is one with a 95% cure rate but that figure is based on early detection. I urge everyone to take the time to have a periodic checkup and if any symptoms appear don't wait to long to see if they go away.
Sorry for the long post but after the load was lifted monday night I felt like sharing.

| | Hey Ronnie, I haven't been on here, in a LOOOOOOONG time, but I jumped on this site real quick just to catch up with everyone, and man! I can't believe this! 25 years old! That darn cancer is no respector of age, race gender, or anything. I've done enough work with St. Jude to know it is definitely a tool of the devil. I am praying for your son, and your entire family. I can't imagine what a toll this has taken on all of you. I haven't been on the site in a while because we had a little boy (our fifth) in December, I think believe I remember you reading my post on that. We've had one heck of an ice storm up here in North Arkansas. We've been running a generator for two weeks. That's why I'm typing this at about 2:00 am! I had to wait for everyone to go to bed and I shut everything else in the house down so that I could get on the computer and read my e-mail and catch up on the WoodHaven folks. Man, what a kick in the gut when I read your post! I will pray for Greg EVERY DAY! Please tell him that. God Bless,
Cliff |

| My mistake! I went back and looked. I've been so wrapped up in everthing, I never got on here and told you guys we had anther baby! Three boys and two girls, now. We had a small concern about our newborn's heart. His pediatrician said she thought she heard a heart murmur and had us go have a cardiologist check him out two days ago. PRAISE GOD!!! His little heart is "perfect" according to the doctor. He listened to him and said he could hear what the pediatrician heard, and he said in newborns you hear that heart sound quited often. It is a sound made by the blood flowing throug a major artery around the heart. The did an EKG, and checked him out with an ultrasound. I mean they looked at him with a fine toothed comb and the cardiologist said, "his little heart is just perfect, we don't even have to do a follow-up visit". Sorry I didn't let you guys know the good news. Like I said, my world has just been flipped upside down since Kendal arrived on Dec. 17. We named him Kendal Zane Higgins. I'll try to get on here with a photo of him as soon as I can. I am definitely going to have Greg and Ronnie and your whold family in my prayers. Keep us posted on how he is doing!

| Thanks Doc and congratulation's too. Hope the weather cooperates and all you folks dealing with no power can get the lights back on. Greg came home Sunday afternoon and looked good and is well on his way to recovery. His Dr said we still don't have the lab results back, they should be in towards the end of the week but from what he saw we need to get Greg healed up from the surgery and he did not expect to see us anymore. Man that was good news.
Once again I just thank the good Lord for his blessing and all our many friends for their concern and prayers.
