Here's my first ever button buck, I have killed plenty of big bucks, but never took down a button before. This one was 115 pounds on the hoof. He field dressed out at 91pounds.... gonna be tender and good eatting.

Enjoy the outdoors, and take a child hunting.

Congratulations!  I love hunting deer with a "smoke poll".  I just love hunting deer!!!  I achieved what they call the tripple trophy here in Arkansas, for the second year in a row.  If you shoot a deer with a bow, muzzleloader, and rifle, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission sends you a certificate and a patch recognizing you as a "triple trophy hunter".  It is a program they started several years ago to encourage the taking of antlerless deer to improve the deer herd, here in Arkansas.  Between that and the state-wide "three point rule" that has been in effect for about four years, now, we have really seen a positive improvement in the deer herd.

You are definitely right about one thing; Those button bucks are GOOD EATIN'.  Enjoy it!

God Bless,

Cliff
