| Deer season has been good to me, here in Arkansas! I have achieved the "Triple Trophy" for the second year in a row! The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission recognizes hunters with a patch and certificate if they succeed in killing three deer in one season with all three methods of harvesting an animal: bow, rifle, muzzleloader. The heck of it is; gun season doesn't even open state-wide, here in Arkansas, until Nov. 11. I was fortunate enough to be drawn for a special early season gun hunt on a Wildlife Management Area that opens the weekend before regular gun season. I shot a 5 1/2 year old doe with my .30-06 this past Saturday. (This hunt had a one deer, either-sex limit.) The same thing happened about four weeks ago when I was hunting on that same WMA during their early muzzleloader season. I couldn't believe that I got drawn for both hunts this year. The Good Lord was looking out for me. I had to kill my deer quick because my wife is about to have our fourth baby, and I needed to tag out ASAP! I shot an 8 pointer on this muzzleloader hunt. He weighed 118 lbs. field dressed. Not bad for a mountain buck! I'll try and get a photo of the 8 pointer on here soon! My last buck came two days ago with my bow. He was a small one, not even picture worthy, but he sho-nough ate good. And my wife sho-nough was glad to get that phone call saying I was THROUGH! The jake I shot with my bow a couple of weeks ago was just icing on the cake. Man the Lord really blessed ol' Cliff this fall! Ya'll have fun in the woods! The bucks are really chasin' in Arkansas right now. And BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!!  God Bless,

| | Way to go Doc. Liked the pic, I know Mrs Doc will be glad to have you around now. Rut's pretty much over here in the Steinhatchee area. General gun starts the 11th and its time to let the dogs out.
