With these 2 packs of calls, I think all the bases wil be covered this spring.

RE: Looking for a new mouth call

Guys...I have to get on here and comment about the RED ZONE calls. I would not be doing you right by not telling more about them. The more I run these calls....the more amazed I am with how easy and well they run. Being around calls all the time and everyday....some times you become "numb" to calls. I always have tried to only add calls to our line-up that had merit....they had to be good and we didn't and-don't need just another call(calls) just to say we have something new! With that said...the combination of latex I used in the development of these calls as well as the stretch, stack and cuts, has produced some awesome calls! Our famous(and now very copied) RED LATEX has been special for us for some time in the RED WASP(alot of folks favorite call-our #1seller) and the RED WING and I wanted to use it (the RED LATEX)to expand our call line if I could. THe other RED calls had used proph. as the underneath reeds to get a sharp, unique sound that has been awesome. When I got to experiementing with regular latex as underneath reeds....this combination proved out best and I am being more impressed with these calls as I become more and more comfortable with them. The term I keep coming back to is "silky" smoothe feeling while running them and in the sound of the calls as these reed "blend" together. THis is long but hope it helps!
I am sure the NEW ENERGY calls have alot of worth while characteristics too and eventually I will learn more about them. THese three personalities Doug B. Scott E. and Mitchell J. have put their touches and preferences into these calls and they are equally excited about what these calls can produce!

My .02

Mike

RE: Looking for a new mouth call

The red wing is the one that I go to when he is fired up, but the Sadler is the best kee kee that I have found on the market. You can't go wrong with any Woodhaven call,

RE: Looking for a new mouth call

My personal opinion is Sadler's signature series to kee on.It has always worked well for me. I like to use he redwin as a general "go to" call.

RE: Looking for a new mouth call

We got some AWESOME new additions in our mouth call line. It is time to experiement and play guys! You will find you some new go-to calls out of these. Some of the old standbys will never go away and I wouldn't suggest you quit using them.....but......these new ones are worth you trying them!

RE: Looking for a new mouth call

The RedWing was my go to call during the spring of 2009. Easy to play and was not overkill on the rasp.

For the XXX nasty talk, the Copperhead II was the ticket.

RE: Looking for a new mouth call

Ditto everything everyone else's comments.

I would also like to say hello to Mr. Mike Pentecost! I'm in the same boat as you for new Woodhaven mouth calls to add to my arsenal this year. I'm also looking at some of the similar calls namely the Sadler Sig., copperheads, Yargus and also the Crabtree. Can't wait to try them out.

Tim

RE: Looking for a new mouth call

Hey Red Wasp! Welcome! I am glad you have had success with our calls and really have your favorites already. I am going to agree with the others....try the Sadler or GrayGhost and any or all of the "wing series"!

Mike

RE: Looking for a new mouth call

Woodhaven has so many excellent calls, it's actually tough to choose one. As with many other posts, guys will give you their personal favorites. For me, they are: Red Wing, Single Wing, and just recently, Yargus II.

You won't go wrong with any of these calls.

RE: Looking for a new mouth call

I'm with Roy on this one.....Sadler's Signature Series. I looked at the calls and read their descriptions. They all sound like exactly what I am looking for. Im going to the NWTF show in Nashville soon so I will pick some up there.
Thanks again.

RE: Looking for a new mouth call

Sadler Sig and Gray Ghost!

RE: Looking for a new mouth call

Well based on the fact you like the redwasp and the copperhead2; my recomendation would be the wings (copperwing, redwing, and yellowwing). However ive learned in the last few years no two callers are alike, with that being said it more or less a trail and error process. Personaly im a huge fan of the copperhead's, and for me the redwing and copperwing are somewhat similar with alittle different range.

                                                                                hope this helps a little

Looking for a new mouth call

I love the red wasp call and the copperhead 2.
But I am looking for a new call this season. I love a triple reed call with the V cut. but I would like to try some other calls by woodhaven this season. I have trouble doing a kee kee with the copperhead and red wasp. What would be a good call to use that I can do basically anything on?
