Florida "Wintry" Duck Hunt

We had an awesome hunt yesterday in a wintry mix in CENTRAL FLORIDA! Let's just say I had every stitch of cold weather gear I own to keep warm. Temps in the low thirtys with 15-20 mph winds and snow flurries and sleet....

Hey Guys I thought I'd add one to the waterfowl section.

This was a late season duck hunt This past december. We had previously hunted near this spot on thanksgiving weekend, while we had some luck we had No idea what the next weekend had instore for us! Saturday the team met up and tried to figure out a game plan we couldnt start our hunt until about 9 a.m.I think. We had quite afew obsticles to overcome! Boat, Dog, canoes , who had brought what amount of decoys etc...as you guys would know. Well not sure of what to expect one duck in the bag was great because we didnt get skunked. But it ended up turning into the best duck hunt that I think we all have ever been on! I mean you couldnt have payed for a better hunt and we were able to pick greenheads only because they were working so well. On day one everyone shot their limits of greenheads and a few bonus honkers. As we picked up our decoys that day birds were still trying to land on us! We opted to come back and hunt the same spot the next day, which doesnt happen often. The 1st day didnt have anything on day 2!!!

Day 1- 20 greenheads and some honkers

Day 2- 23 greenheads, 1 hen mallard (My old man just couldnt contain himself), 6 black ducks, and 1 drake ringneck.

My buddy thats Holding The legs up of the duck was the last duck shot of the day...It was a double banded ($100 reward band) Black x mallard hybrid drake..Some guys have all the luck.

Any of you guys get out in the March Canada Goose season in NY???

I only made it out one time...and we piled them up!!! We had a blast...4 man limit of 20 birds in about an hour or so once the birds started flying!!! It was a great way to end a season...

We put the smack down on the ducks and geese here in MO. 8 mallards 2 green wing teal and 2 bluebills along with 4 bonus geese to round out a two man, one day hunt!

Is anyone seeing any teal?? We have some birds here now. Only a few flocks of bluewings probably no more than 100 birds. Let the cold winds blow and the snow fly and the timber water stay open!!
