But in Kentucky, you have potential to kill a stud with just a little bit of patience. The genetics up there are unbelievable. It looks promising. I went in and bushhogged and sprayed the weekend before last and yesterday when we got in there, there were deer tracks everywhere. 3 more weeks.</P><P>We did not make the trip to Kentucky this past weekend. We thought it was going to to be too hot and we remembered how slow it was last year opening weekend. So we stayed home for the opener of dove season. Here in Louisiana we actually had a little cool front come in that made it very nice for opening day of dove season. About 3 years ago one of our guys killed a 193", but since then blue tongue hit and took a toll on a lot of our older bucks. They are slowly but surly starting to come back. Come on Sept 4th! We ought to have a pretty good year this year, ole blue tongue still haunts us, but we've been seeing some nice potential shooters the last couple years.
