Depending on what you are trying to do there are many options and pricing is getting better all the time. I bought a scout guard that I really was liking and then had a problem with the remote when it was about 6 months old, they sent me a whole new camera. I like their service but am concerned about a 200 dollar camera back in the shop at 6 months. I also picked up a wildlife something at wall mart for $50 it is 1.3 mega pixels but should do fine for monitoring but it will not be much for a quality photo.
Baiting a spot helps a lot getting pictures but that also opens up other issue's, I like to place camera's over scrapes and salt lick,s. I have not used mine monitoring trails yet.
Some things to watch out for, this is fun but if you go to your camera too often you will run off mature game. I don't know how much affect a flash has on big bucks but I think you should start way ahead of time for them to get accustomed to it. The scout guard is infa-red but they still notice it and act nervous at first but have not spooked and left. I like camera's that take pictures or video in quick sequence very often the second deer is the one you want to see.
Work is calling hope some of this helps

RE: Trail Cameras

The new Cuddeback Capture is great. I also really like the Wildviews as long as you have something that will hold deer in one spot like salt or a feeder. I bought a 2 pack of Wildviews 2.0 and have over 2000 pics each on them. Also a good buddy of mine is really braggin' on his Wildgame Innovations IR4. He does have really good pics with it.

Trail Cameras

Greetings to all. I just wanted to get some insight on the use of trail cameras for scouting (successes and dislikes). If a lot of you use them, then what do you guys use/recommend. I've been researching trail cams on the web, but I can't wait to hear from all of you.

Thanks,

Tim
