This deer was less than 15 yards, along with 4 spikes, 3 6pts, and several does and fawns. The hunt had everything I could ask for. Deers sparring, horning trees and young bucks aggrevating does! Awesome footage and all out of a ground blind! Thank the Lord for Deer Hunting!!!! I know that it is not the typical monster that you see on tv, but it is a great deer for my area.

Also congrats to Scott on his SC buck! That is also a great deer for SC! Prior to this i Had been Having a Really rough deer season due to Work and yada yada. I went to canada for a week and sat in the stand for 6 straight days. dark to dark. didnt see a deer it was unusually warm...it was very testing.

I then came back to NY for the opener and shot a small buck althought it felt like the biggest buck ever lol. Didnt have a picture of that one to post. 3 days later Went to Conn. It was a Very cold Morning and I had to stand up and few times to get warmed up.

3 does came running down the hill side and then this guy followed. One shot from my 30-30 and he was down. 173 yards my farthest shot i've made on a deer. I shoot the Leverevolution ammo and I swear by it! Anyway here he is.

7 point he had a funky right side prolly due to injury. Not the biggest buck But I'd take him any day.

Couple PA Bucks

Both of these bucks were shot out of the same deer drive about 10 minutes and 750 yards apart. Which has been enough success to continue the effort, one more trick in the bag. Yesterday I recieved my second Woodhaven grunt and loaned it to a buddy who has never had any luck at all with grunts. He had two does come in just before dark and tried the new grunt with immediate results, the buck came in busting brush and looking for trouble. He was a small eight point and the .50 cal did the rest. Add another Woodhaven believer

If you guys haven't tried the Woodhaven grunt it is the best I have tried it is even tuneable enough to not scare of these smaller southeastern bucks and by far the best looking and most durable call I have seen.

sorry for the long post

Ronnie

Bow Season

I am so ready for bow season, i just planted my fall plot a week ago because we are now getting some steady rain fall. I have a question though regarding stand positioning. I have always have had this stand in the same spot for many years its been a very affective stand in the past but the only problem is the way its positioning your view is block because of a bluff. The stand is along a bluff only because its blocks your wind. I am planning on repositioning the stand soon any advice on how i should go about this?

Hunting style

What is your favorite method to hunt deer? This guy growled/roared at 3 oclock but stayed in a thicket for an hour and a half. I had the Mathews and the DISC Extreme with me in the tree. He came in to 35 and started to walk away on the angle so I switched out for the DISC. I'm kind of disappointed because he got back on a 40 yard trail and I could've sent a Rage through him but there wasn't time to swtich back. Shot him with the DISC Extreme at 40 yards.

Cliff's first buck of the year.

I shot this buck Saturday on an early gun permit hunt on a WMA in Northwest, AR. 30-06. 75 yards. I have achieved the "Triple Trophy" for the second year in a row! The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission recognizes hunters with a patch and certificate if they succeed in killing three deer in one season with all three methods of harvesting an animal: bow, rifle, muzzleloader. The heck of it is; gun season doesn't even open state-wide, here in Arkansas, until Nov. 11. I was fortunate enough to be drawn for a special early season gun hunt on a Wildlife Management Area that opens the weekend before regular gun season. I shot a 5 1/2 year old doe with my .30-06 this past Saturday. (This hunt had a one deer, either-sex limit.) The same thing happened about four weeks ago when I was hunting on that same WMA during their early muzzleloader season. I couldn't believe that I got drawn for both hunts this year. The Good Lord was looking out for me. I had to kill my deer quick because my wife is about to have our fourth baby, and I needed to tag out ASAP! I shot an 8 pointer on this muzzleloader hunt. He weighed 118 lbs. field dressed. Not bad for a mountain buck! I'll try and get a photo of the 8 pointer on here soon! My last buck came two days ago with my bow. He was a small one, not even picture worthy, but he sho-nough ate good. And my wife sho-nough was glad to get that phone call saying I was THROUGH! The jake I shot with my bow a couple of weeks ago was just icing on the cake. Man the Lord really blessed ol' Cliff this fall! Ya'll have fun in the woods! The bucks are really chasin' in Arkansas right now. And BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!!

God Bless,

Cliff's 8 Point Buck

Here's a photo of my 8 pointer taken in Arkansas with a muzzleloader. .50 cal.
