I'll never say never....cause we don't know what the future holds...but right now we are a turkey call company. I started this business basically because I loved to turkey hunt and bowhunt whitetailed deer and I could build products that I was using to help me and sell them to others to help them. I feel like we are THE BEST turkey call company period! It is going to stay that way right now because I need to stay focused on what I do and what I know!

I did start looking into goose/duck calls a few years ago and did some prototype work....I guess they actually sounded pretty good, but therein lies the problem...I am not a duck/goose caller etc....I have all on my plate with family and business the size it is now ....that I can handle. Someone else would have to help me with it and I can't do it right now.

Very true! Woodhaven is def. the best call. Every mouth call I have is woodhaven and yall sold me the anodized alum. call at convention last year and it is the best friction call i have ever owned!! Ill never swap! But i was just wondering about the duck calls....def. dont want any attention taken away from turkey hunting that is #1 on everyones list i believe! Thanks for everything yall do at woodhaven!

Well, if you ever decide to make one I'd volunteer to do some field testing!

Fall turkey is only open TN for 2 weeks so I duck hunt the rest of the time!

Hi Mike,

If you ever decide to make a go at the waterfowl side of calls,I will more than gladly try to help you out.  Alot of the same woods, and acrylics are used. Just an idea, and with all respect.....try breaking into the industry with some wood duck calls, like a squeal call and a whine call. A mallard drake call is another good one to start with. All are small calls, and doesnt require much material. You may be able to use left over wood from your turkey calls. I can tell you this....I havent seen an all acrylic mallard drake call,or an acrylic/wood one either. I used a wood duck whine call this past January here in Pa,and the mallards ate it up,they locked up every single whine out of the call. I think it was more curiosity from the mallards to here woodies on the water in Pa that deep into our hard winters. LOL!  It worked though, and we stuck with it! LOL!

There are several waterfowl companies breaking into the turkey scene. Companies like Zinks,Bill Saunders,I even heard Foiles may be making turkey calls, but not sure if it is sound info. I have seen and worked the Zinks line of calls. Diaphrams and Frictions.

If you need any input, feel free to contact me. I will do my best!

Just talked to Big Sean at the FOILES SHOP....We are NOT coming out with turkey calls of any kind.  Just thought I would throw that out there.

Now...I know for a fact that Zink is coming out with turkey calls as I have seen them.  I am not sure about Saunders...I will do a little digging.  It wouldn't suprise me...simply due to the relationship between Bill and Dave Smith (DSD Decoys).
