Hello, I am new to Turkey Hunting and need help!

I plan to hunt the Ozarks of Southern Missouri

and would appreciate any advise on how to hunt/call

Turkeys.

I have purchased a Woodhaven Legend Slate call and

a Foolproof box call.

Rent or  buy some turkey hunting videos. learn the basic calls and if you get the tom responding and you get to nervous quit calling or call every ten fifteen minutes. biggest mistake when starting is getting impatient. it may take two hours or more for a tom to come within shooting distance. buy a cheap or expensive hen decoy. most of all have fun.

Where at in the Ozarks are you hunting? I hunt in the ozarks and did quiet well. Are you hunting government birds or private birds? There are lots of factors that play into the equation of turkey hunting. Calling is just a same part. Woodsmanship is what will kill most turkeys.
