| | Thanks A BUNCH, guys! 25...WOOOOO, that was a long time ago! I am now in a "Holding Pattern" at 39. I'm going to squeeze every day of this year for as much as I can get out of it! I'll tell you what I did on my birthday. I DID have a GREAT day. My chapter of the NWTF hosted a fishing derby as a state park in my home town and I took my kids fishing. Our chapter partnered with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to do this, also the local chapter of FOCAS; Fellowship of Christian Anglers Society. Local stores donated food. We have a Frito-Lay plant her that I contatcted that donated chips, and our local Pepsi plant gave us a bunch of drinks. Some of my committee grilled over 400 hotdogs and they were GONE in just a litle bit! Get this, there were 611 people in attendance. The AG&FC had stocked the lake with 450 channel catfish the day before the derby so the kids would have plenty of fish to catch. 181 kids fished in the derby. We signed EVERY ONE of them up as JAKES members of the NWTF and my chapter pays for their membership. We gave away right at $1,000.00 worth of prizes to the kids, everything from rod and reels to turkey vests, calls, DVDs. Those kids had a GREAT time! The weather we absolutely perfect! We even raffled off a youth model 12 ga. shotgun and you should have seen the little stinker that one it. As a matter of fact, I'll show him to you. Here's a picture of him and his dad. | | That's absolutely wonderful Doc! There's no tellin' how many young live's will be influenced by that one day and by the efforts of you and your chapter. I commend each of you for it... God will bless you all for that. P.S. - Nice sticker on your truck!
