I have come across your calls and was hoping if any of the Sting Team would suggest a few calls for the woods and competative calling.  I have used a three reed with a V cut for my cutts, clucks and flydown cackles.  I use a two reed ghost cutt for my plain yelps, purr/cluck and kee kees.

I have placed second and third in a few calling contest but have fallen short.  I have heard alot of positive feedback on your mouth calls and wanted to give them a try.  I would love to purchase a few of your calls but am having trouble making a decsion on which two or three mouth calls to try.  I am willing to put in the work and practice to make the calls work.  Any suggestions on improving my calling would be greatly appreciated.  I have listened to real turkeys and various Cd's and that has helped me alot.  I also practice anywher from 20 minutes up to two hours with my mouth calls.  If you could also let me know what call works best with a particular mouth call that would be awesome.

Thanks in advance for all the help and the sharing of knowledge!

Utah, Glad to have you here! All of the "guys" make their own personal favorite calls that we put in our line and sell as "The Signature Series"  Matt's is a 4 reed call, combo cut and stretched really tight. Sadler's is a 3reed (actually 2.5 I think) Ghost cut with light tension. Billy's is a 2.5 reed with gray latex on top his cutter with a notch in the back of it. Doug's call is a 3reed combo cut with all proph. reeds. All of these are worth your while to try and see if they work for you or not.

As far as the regular line goes.....I would try the "wings"...the single wing, redwing, copperwing or yellowing and/or the redwasp & copperhead . Hope this helps!

Mike
